Meeting at Midnight

The cool crisp droplets of the late night dew were sent into a small shower of sparkling water as the young female wolf wandered deeper into the forest. Pointed ears stood alert as she slowly glanced around, deep emeralds scanning the surrounding trees for any sign of movement. Coming upon a small break in the trees, the female walked to the center and directed her gaze upward, basking in the moonlight that shined down on her. For a wolf, there was nothing better than being bathed in moonlight. It always seemed to rejuvenate them and give them an extra boost of power that they didn't know they had. To wolves, the moon was a mystic being all its own and it was something that most packs praised as part of their customs. Makoza was no different, she fullheartedly believed that the moon was an extremely powerful thing, but unlike her brethren she didn't praise it as a form of worship, but instead as a way to give thanks to it for the power it gave her in turn.

"Makoza?"

The female was visibly jerked from her slight trance by the sound of someone calling her name. Whipping her head around, she found herself looking into bright green eyes not unlike her own, except that they were a few shades brighter. Giving her ear a flick as she slowly relaxed herself, she offered a kind smile to the creature that approached her.

"Hello, Acid," she greeted, her voice gentle as it seemed to chime into the air like a bell. "You almost scared me. You'll have to be careful when announcing yourself, especially to a wolf which is distracted by the light of the moon." There was a laugh in her tone now as she slowly began to take back on her usual playful nature.

Acid rolled her eyes as she gave her head a light shake. "Awe, c'mon, Koza. Ya know I never mean to scare you," she stepped forward and gave the much smaller canid a light shove on the shoulder. A shove that made Makoza send a playful glare to her companion. "You just get distracted easily."

The wolf found that she had nothing to say in response and so she settled for simply huffing and turning away from the mutant canine. Without saying a word she began to walk away, nose slightly pointed to the sky as if in a seemingly 'stuck up' fashion, but in truth she was hiding a smile.

"Hey, don't you act that way to me, Koza. You know I could just sit on you and this conversation could be over, right?"

Makoza's ears shot up at that and she slowly turned to face Acid, a look of slight mock horror on her face. "Oh please, don't! My back is still sore from the last time!" Acid snorted, her large bright green fringe swishing slightly as she laughed.

"Okay, fine, no sitting," she trotted up to Makoza, who had turned around to fully face her now. "But, if you don't behave I'll have to do something."

Makoza rolled her eyes, but there was a clear smile on her muzzle. "Yeah, yeah, okay." She looked up at the taller female and noticed that as she did the moon's light seemed to reflect off Acid's lime green markings making them appear to glow. "You know something, Ace, you are really beautiful." Acid's expression seemed to soften then, and as she looked down at Koza, a bright smile slowly pulled at the corners of her mouth.

"Don't lie, Koza, you and I both know you are the more beautiful of the two of us." Makoza blinked at the comment, but said nothing, content to simply look up at taller canid with a soft smile.

A simple doodle that turned into more.

Ignore the half-assed BG, I'm afraid I can't do any better than that. XD I also think I might have screwed up majorly when it came to their size differences, but all well. What can ya do? XP I also don't feel like fixing it as it'd be a major pain in the ass to draw all that grass again. XD
